How do preorders work? [top]
Preordering a title means you're reserving one of the first copies to be released. For print editions, pre-orders will normally be shipped 7-10 business days before the official release date of the book, and are sent via the shipping option you've chosen. For digital copies, you'll get an email directly from our staff with the book's file attached, in the format you've chosen, one week before the official release date.
What is the 'ePub' format? [top]
There are two main types of ebooks currently published in the industry: Kindle, and ePub. Kindle-formatted books can only be read on Kindles or using Kindle apps on third-party devices, such as Kindle for PC. ePub is a much more flexible format, and is found throughout the remainder of e-reading devices. It can be used on the Barnes & Noble Nook, the Kobo, Sony's eReader, and in iBooks on the iPhone, iPod, and iPad.
Either type of ebook can be read on most devices, depending on how much work you'd like to put into it. In general, it's better to stay with the format designed for your ereading device. You can find out more about the epub format here.
